Financial aid distributed among 32,841 farmers in Nagaon

NAGAON: State PHE Minister Rihon Daimari, at a special function held in Nagaon on Saturday, distributed sanction letters of financial aid of Rs 5,000 each among 32,841 farmers to purchase agricultural tools under the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yozana.

The function, organized by the Nagaon district agriculture department, was held at Nehrubali field and presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Jadav Saikia. In his speech, the minister said that the State government had taken various innovative measures for farmers. He urged farmers to purchase only those things which were essential for agricultural work and not for other purposes.

He ascertained that those who received the aid today would get other benefits under the same scheme sponsored by the Union government soon. In the function, MLAs Rupak Sarma and Aminul Islam, District Agriculture Officer Ashok Sarma Khaund and other dignitaries of the agriculture department were present.
