Financial markets boom with Modi government to claim majority, Sensex hits 40,000 & NIFTY crosses 12,000 mark

Mumbai: This is something that has happened for the first time in India’s history as Mumbai’s S&P BSE SENSEX has crossed the 40,000 marks. This sudden progress in the Sensex is a direct outcome of the massive victory attained by the Modi government in the poll results declared so far. Notably, the SENSEX climbed over 750 points in just over an hour.

A similar unprecedented gain too is reflected by NIFTY as the latest report says that NSE’s NIFTY has breached the 12,000 mark, gaining by over 2%.

As per the morning trade in SENSEX, the highest gainers were IndusInd Bank, SBI, L&T, PowerGrid, Yes Bank, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, RIL, HDFC, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank that rallied up to 7 percent.

The latest reports of votes counting show the NDA leading on 344 seats leaving behind the UPA and others at 91 and 106 seats, respectively.
