First List of Candidates Before Christmas: Hamlet Dohling

SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister and leader of the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hamlet Dohling have informed that the party might announce the first list of candidates for the upcoming district council polls in 2019 before Christmas.

“The party is likely to announce the first list of candidates for the 2019 elections to the two tribal district councils in Khasi and Jaintia Hills region before Christmas,” Hamlet Dohling said.

He also said that the party is also contemplating to set up candidates in all the 29 seats in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

He however said that the party is yet to decide on the number of seats for the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) elections.

According to him, the matter has been entrusted to the party’s zonal committees in Jaintia Hills region.
