Five arrested for allegedly clearing forest area for encroachment in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Forest department on Tuesday arrested at least five persons from the Kalashi block under Jharbari Forest range in Kokrajhar district for allegedly clearing forest area for encroachment.

According to the forest department officials, the five men illegally were clearing forest area for encroaching the forest land.

The arrested persons have been identified as Samar Basumatary, Lola Mushshary, Nil Basumatary, Samlal Brahma and Monthu Basumatary.

It may be mentioned that all the five accused has been booked on the case no J/3 of 2018 under section 24, 25, 36-A, 49-A, of AFR Act, 1891.
