Five crude oil smugglers bbed

JOYSAGAR, Feb 15: Sivasagar Police on Wednesday bbed five crude oil smugglers from mtial Pathar near Sivasagar town.  Following secret information, Sivasagar Police team launched an operation against the smugglers who smuggled crude oil from ONGC oil field in Sivasagar. Police bbed Anup Gogoi, Samarjeet Singh, Abidur Hazarika, Dulen Chetia and Jiva Chetia of Darikapar area of Sivasagar. An oil tanker bearing registration number NL-04-3797 along with 12.800 litres of crude oil were also recovered by the police team. The oil had been smuggled from an operation rig of ONGC, Sivasagar.  The arrested persons were brought to Sivasagar Sadar PS for more interrogation and top officials of Sivasagar Police are interrogating them, sources revealed.
