Five ill after consuming jalebi

DEMOW, May 4: Five persons of the same family of Dhaibari Nepali Gaon near Demow under Nitaipukhuri Police Station in Sivasagar district fell ill after having jalebi on Thursday. The affected persons are Guru Prasad Dungal (70), Madhabi Sarma (32), Iswar Dungal (34), Sumitra Devi (35) and Urmila Chetry (5). All the five have been admitted to Demow Model Hospital at Raichai. According to the family members of the victims, Sumitra Devi brought the jalebis from a restaurant located at Demow Janata Path on Thursday afternoon. Presently, the affected persons are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
