Former DC, two others arrested

ITANAGAR, July 3: In an action to the repeated complain by Yazali Zilla Segment TAH Compensation Deprived Forum on the mismanagement of public fund capital, Special Investigating Cell (SIC) arrested the then Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri district Kemo Lollen, DLRSO Bharat Lingu and Likha Maj on Tuesday evening.

According to the sources, it has been verified that, DLRSO Bharat Lingu and Likha Maj has been arrested but due to health issue Kemo Lollen has been shifted to the city hospital for health check up.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the forum Bengia Tolum speaking to this daily said that it is a good sign by the state government that the genuine demands of the people are been taken seriously.

“Earlier the state home department had issued order to arrest five persons involved in the case according to my sources,” he added.

He also stressed on the immediate arrest of three engineers involved in the land compensation and a lady engineer from Ziro.

The forum had earlier complained that the officials have disbursed huge compensation to the people who don’t even possess a land. On the other hand, the genuine land owners are being deprived of the legitimate land compensation amount and are asked to receive only 20 to 30 percent of the total amount.
