Former MP Dr Pur rayan Singha remembered

Tezpur, Oct 18:  Recalling ‘Ja Neta’ Dr. Pur rayan Singha as a true leader of the masses, a philanthropist and former MP who sacrificed everything for the cause of the tion and people, Sonitpur district Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union, in association with Dr. Palashmani Singha, younger son of the public leader, observed the 106th birth anniversary of Dr.Pur rayan Singha here at Lachit Chawk, Tezpur.  Attending the programme, Rajib Das, general secretary of Asom Jatiya Yuba Sanmilan, lit the lamp in presence of many dignitaries like Moidul Islam, president of Sonitpur district AMSU, advocates of Tezpur Bar Association and Monoranjan Saha. Earlier, Asim Das, president of AKRSU, Sonitpur District Chapter, while paying rich tribute to the great altruist and dexterous public leader, offered garland on Dr.Pur rayan Singha’s statue and recalled how he worked relentlessly for the cause of welfare of the people of Assam. He was a great patriot but his greatest quality was that he taught thousands of people to love their motherland, Das said.
