Foundation stone for railway flyover laid

Batadrava, March 30: Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain on Thursday laid the foundation stone of a railway flyover at Kampur railway gate by pressing a remote from Kampur Railway station in the gaon district. The bridge will be built by the Department of Railways at an estimated cost of Rs. 40 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Rajen Gohain said that the construction work was expected to begin within three months. Once work was completed, the people of Kampur area would be free of impediments. Gohain also said that the infrastructure of Kampur Railway station would also be developed soon.

Legislators Siladitya Dev, Rupak Sharma and Dibeswar Das, Deputy Commissioner of gaon, Biswajit Pegu, Superintendent of Police of gaon, Shankar Raimedhi, officials of Railways department and hundreds of local people were present on the occasion. Constant traffic congestion at Kampur level crossing had driven the residents to take out various protest rallies demanding a railway flyover since the last couple of years or so.
