Foundation stone laid

JOYSAGAR, April 19: In a formal function, the foundation stone to construct the historic Charing Nagaali and Amguri connecting PWD road was laid on Thursday by Amguri MLA and AGP general secretary Pradip Hazarika. Addressing the local people, MLA Hazarika said that the government was serious about improving infrastructure so that road communication could be improved and for this, in the latest budget the BJP-AGP-BPF coalition government had granted more fund. “We are focusing on the important areas where reconstruction and rebuilding of roads are very necessary,” he said. Besides, MLA Hazarika also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Namti-Borchila connecting road under the 2018-19 fiscal budget fund of PWD on Thursday. He assured the local people of taking prompt initiative in preservation and beautification of the historic Namtipull and for this he had held discussion with PWD engineers to build an alternative bridge in the Namtipull area over the Namdang river. Meanwhile, the Kalibari road under Sivasagar Municipal Board was formally inaugurated on Thursday by ADC Ashwani Doley.  The road was reconstructed by the SMB fund recently and it connects the Dikhowpar and Phukan Nagar areas as well as historic Kali Mandir area of Sivasagar town.
