BOKO, June 10: Bijoya Chakraborty, MP of Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency, and Rekibuddin Ahmed, MLA of Chaygaon LAC, jointly laid foundation stones at Chaygaon PWD Inspection Bungalow for the Santipur village to Parugaon village road (length 5.76 km, worth Rs 1.34 crore), Mojaibari to Chakrapani road (length 8 km, worth Rs 5.36 crore), NH-37 to Jamuguri village road (length 5.76 km, worth Rs 5.34 crore), Jaruwagaon to Hatigarh village road (length 5.68 km, worth Rs 3.5 crore), Chaygaon to Batakuchi village road (length 660 metres, worth Rs 38.54 lakh), Koimari to Doloipara village road (length 1.2 km, worth Rs 53 lakh), Mohgorahpara to 1 No. Uttar Bankakata road (1.89 km, worth Rs 75 lakh), Mathpara to 2 no. Nowapara road (length 910 metres, worth Rs 75 lakh), Chaygaon Bajar to 2 no. Balasiddhi village road (length 6 km, worth Rs 3.35 crore), and Gumi village to 3 no. Bankakata village road (length 2.25 km, worth Rs 1.11 crore).
They also laid foundation stones in Goroimari for Tukrapara to Dakhin Choudhurypam village road (length 9 km, worth Rs 9.25 crore), Goroimari to Dakhin Tukrapara village road (length 3 km, worth Rs 1.38 crore), Manjuri Beelpathar to Asolpara road (length 2 km, worth Rs 96 lakh) and Bhalukmari to Coutara Bajar road (length 2.8 km, worth Rs 1.38 crore).
MP Bijoya Chakraborty hoped that Chaygaon constituency would develop in terms of road connectivity as well as other aspects. MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed said, “The people of Chaygaon have faith in me so they cast their valuable votes for me. It is my moral responsibility to take up development works for them and this is just the start.”
