Freedom Fighter Jyotsna Rani Sen Passes Away

Silchar: Freedom fighter Jyotsna Rani Sen passed away at her own residence at National Highway road of this town recently at the age of 100. She is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter. Her sad demise has sent waves of shock among the people of this town. Jyotsna Rani Sen was born in present day Bangladesh on September 3, 1918. She was the wife of late RK Sen and an illustrious daughter of father Debendra Kumar Nandi Purkayastha and mother Kumudini Nandi Purkayastha. Many came to pay their last tributes to the great freedom fighter at her cremation ground which include Dr Sujit Kumar Nandi Purkayastha, Rupam Nandi Purkayastha, Sadhan Purkayastha, Sanjib Deb Laskar, Dipak Sengupta, Amit Dey among others.
