GUWAHATI: The Asom Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Saimilani (ARPSS) has announced its agitation schedule again. The Sanmilani did resort to agitation on February 4, 5 and 6 earlier.

Talking to the media on Saturday, Sanmilani secretary general Ratul Chandra Goswami said: “We resorted to a three-day non-cooperation agitation on February 4, 5 and 6 this year. However, the government is not taking anything tangible to solve the problems of elementary school teachers and students. This has prompted us to announce a fresh schedule of agitation.”

Spelling out the fresh agitation schedule, Goswami said: “This phase of agitation is going to start from February 21. On February 21, each and every sub-divisional committee of the Sanmilani is going to gherao the residences of their respective local MLAs and send memorandum to the Chief Minister to draw his attention to the problems afflicting elementary school teachers and students.

However, we’re going to take classes on that day. On February 25, we’re going to hold meetings of parents and public to let them know the problems being faced by elementary school teachers and students. Such meetings will be held after the mid-day meal. On February 26, we’re going to stage a jail bhoro agitation and memorandums to the Chief Minister through the deputy commissioners and sub-divisional officers. From February 27 we’re going to hold an indefinite non-cooperation of head masters’ official works. Such an agitation will paralyse everything, including the mid-day meal.”
