Fund misappropriation alleged in Women's College, Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, June 14: Women’s College, Tinsukia, a leading educatiol institution which is celebrating its golden jubilee this year, is suspected to be in the grip of huge fincial irregularities.

A whopping amount to the tune of several lakhs of rupees or more has been allegedly swindled or misappropriated in various funds of the college, including UGC grant during the period 2011-12. This was revealed by outgoing GB president of the college, Ira Das at a public meeting held at the college auditorium to discuss the modalities for ensuing golden jubilee celebration.

She also disclosed that owing to this misappropriation and non-submission of proper utilization certificate by the earlier incumbents, the college was denied any grant by UGC during the 12th Plan, adding further that a detail report has been sent to DHE Assam for proper action.
