Gang of thieves kill one in Samaguri

NAGAON: In a merciless attack by a gang of thieves on Friday night, a resident was killed at Samaguri Boromabil village under Samaguri police station. According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Abdul Hai. A gang of thieves comprising four persons went to his house in a four-wheeler on Friday night with the intention to steal goats. When the gang entered the house, Abdul Hai immediately alerted his neighbours. The gang, out of fear, attacked Hai with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot. Meanwhile, Samaguri Police as well as the neighbours rushed to the spot and rescued him in a critical condition and brought him to the local hospital. But the doctor on duty declared him brought him dead. Police later registered a case in connection with the gruesome incident and have started an investigation.
