Ganja seized, one arrested

JOYSAGAR, July 8: Sivasagar Police apprehended a narcotic trader on Saturday night from Cherekapara area here and seized about 13.800 kg ganja from his possession. The arrested person was identified as one Sahabuddin Ahmed of Simaluguri Railway Junction area in Sivasagar District. Sources informed that Sahabuddin used to bring ganja and tobacco products from Dimapur and Guwahati by train and he was also member of a drug peddlers’ gang of Nazira. Sivasagar District Police busted two drug peddlers’ dens recently and nabbed about six people from Amguri town and Nazira town of the district.
