Gas pipeline blast in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: A domestic supply underground gas pipeline of the Assam Gas Company Limited, Duliajan burst in Sivasagar town on Sunday night near the Sivasagar ASTC Tiniali area.

Sources informed that on Sunday night, local people heard a loud sound and then they spotted the damaged pipeline.

The AGC authorities, as well as the local fire service personnel, were called and they managed to stop the gas leakage and also repair the damaged pipeline. Sources also informed that the underground pipeline had become weak and was covered by stains. It had been installed about 25 years ago in Sivasagar.
