Gauhati University NSS Cell To Organize 12 Day Yoga Workshop

GUWAHATI: Gauhati University NSS Cell is organizing a 12-day yoga workshop at GU under the instruction from Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi; MHRD and Directorate of NSS, New Delhi.

The workshop will be held from 4.30 to 5.30 pm daily at students’ day home of Gauhati University and it will continue till 20th June, 2019. The workshop has been organized so that International Day of Yoga (IDY) may be celebrated in a successful way. As part of the celebration of IDY, Inter-College Yoga competition, Inter-college quiz and debating competition will be held at students’ day home and interested students are requested to attend at 8 am in the venue.

Competitions will be held in two sections: school section (from class 7 to 12 ) and college/university section (degree and PG). Dr Mridul Hazarika, Vice-Chancellor, GU, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Registrar I/C , GU, Dr Ranjan Kr Kakati, Director, Students Welfare, GU requested GU family, NSS Volunteers & Programme Officers for their mass participations in the IDY programme to make it a grand success on 21st June. Prize money and certificates will be provided to the winners, a press release said.
