Ghosh in police remand, 6 others sent to jail

GUWAHATI, April 10: Sonitpur DTO Prasenjit Ghosh, who was arrested by Dibrugarh Police on Monday in connection with the cash-for-job scam in the APSC, has been sent to 14-day police remand by the Court of Special Judge here. Ghosh was produced before the court on Tuesday. He was Kamrup (M) DTO (Enforcement), but transferred as the DTO, Sonitpur on March 11, 2018.  He had been grilled by the CID in Guwahati while working as DTO (enforcement), Kamrup (M) in connection with coal syndicate.

Meanwhile, the court sent six other officials arrested in connection with the APSC scam earlier to judicial remand on Tuesday. The six were produced before the court on Tuesday when their terms of police remand were over. The six officials are Rituraj Gogoi, Satyajit Sarkar, Barli Devi, Kaushik Kalita, Abhishek Borbora, and Joydeb Mahanta.
