Golaghat Police holds meeting

GOLAGHAT, June 10: A meeting was held at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Golaghat on Sunday to discuss an action plan to quell rumours originating from fake news circulated on social media and the possibility of a fall-out of the Karbi Anglong incident in Golaghat district.

The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, Additional District Magistrate, senior citizens, media persons, representatives of various student unions such as AASU, AJYCP, tea garden management and others. All the people present put forth their views in this regard. It was decided to create awareness among the masses with the appeal not to believe in rumours and fake news, with special focus on tea-garden areas.
