ITANAGAR, June 25: The Commandant of 25 ITBP, Dharmendra Kumar Bhateria, said that good education and proper grooming by teachers and good educational institutions will help society overcome many social evils and challenges.
The Commandant said this while sharing the concern of the district administrations of Anjaw, Namsai and Lohit about the challenges faced by society due to drug abuse, especially the opium addiction.
He was attending the valedictory function of a three-day teachers’ orientation programme organized by Anu Shiksha Seva Trust at Beena Ghose Roy Enclave at Tezu in Lohit district on Sunday.
The programme was inaugurated by Swamini Geetananda on Friday last. The Commandant appealed to teachers and elders in the community to sensitize the youngsters on the proper use of technology, social media and mobiles, besides cautioning them about the abuse of these in modern day life.
While interacting with teachers, elders and members of Anu Shiksha Seva Trust, the Commandant assured all possible support from the border guarding force, and said that the ITBP is always willing to share the responsibility for speedy development and growth of the society and people of the border areas.
Satyanarayanan Mundayoor, Vijay Swami and Omkar Pradhan were the resource persons of the training programme, an official release informed here today.
