Government Health Ministry Bans Many Popular Drugs and 327 Other Combination Drugs

In a rather shocking order passed by the Health Ministry of the government of India, it has banned the sale and distribution of 328 fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) of drugs which also includes popular and mostly bought drugs like painkiller Saridon, skin cream Panderm, antibiotic Lupidiclox, combination diabetes drug Gluconorm PG and antibacterial Taxim AZ.

With this new announcement of the ban on drugs, the much long pulled battle between the manufacturers of these combination drugs and the ministry has come to end as both the parties were fighting to get these “irrational” and “unsafe” drugs banned since 2016.

On the other hand, some other drugs that have slipped off the ban by the government are Phensedyl Cough Linctus, D-Cold Total and Corex (cough syrup).
