Government To Adopt Villages Under Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yozna

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday said the State Government has initiated various welfare measures for the people and the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yozna (CMAGY) is one among such programmes under which, an Adarsh village will be adopted and developed as a model village in each constituency.

“Fund for the programme has been already released,” Mein said while addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a play ground at Motum under Mebo sub-division in East Siang district.

The playground has been constructed under Special Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF), official sources informed.

The Deputy Chief Minister also launched the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yozna at Motum. He lauded the initiative of the local MLA saying that it is among the few constituencies that has implemented the CMAGY successfully and assured to release the remaining funds.

The Deputy Chief Minister added that Mebo constituency had seen coming up of many quality infrastructures like tiles floored Musup (community hall) at Motum, a large school auditorium at Borguli and a soundproof community hall at Mebo in the last few years.

He lauded the executing agencies for their quality execution of work and judicious utilization of funds. He urged the people to continue to keep up their development-oriented mindset and to do away with the habits of proposing schemes of individualistic nature.

Emphasizing on the need for road and air connectivity, one of the priority sector of the government, Mein informed that the district headquarters would also be interconnected by air service, once the Greenfield Airport at Holongi, near Itanagar comes up.

Responding to the memorandum submitted by Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng, the Deputy Chief Minister assured to provide funds for the Mebo to Patan Korong road via Sigar military station, flood protection work at Siku river and a public gallery in the newly inaugurated general ground at Motum, the sources added.
