Guwahati Lift Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket Championship Title

GUWAHATI: Guwahati lifted Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket Championship title defeating NFRSA by virtue of the first innings lead at the Judges ground here today. The three-day final came to an end as a draw but Guwahati were successful to take 74 runs first innings lead which made the difference between the two sides.

In reply to Guwahati’s first innings total 221 NFRSA bowled out 147 runs in their first innings. Guwahati were 36-3 in their second innings when the game ended today.

Rahul Hazarika of Guwahati adjudged player of the final while Sibsankar Roy (NFRSA) collected best batsman award of the competition. Amlanjyoti Das (Barpeta) received best bowler award of the meet. On the other hand Riyan Parag of Guwahati adjudged the player of the tournament award.

The closing function of the meet was attended by many ACA officials including president and the secretary Romen Dutta and Devajit Saikia respectively, CEO of ACA Sujit Kakati along with many former cricketers like Amal Das, Shankar Datta Lahkar, Rajib Phukan, Rajesh Borah and Nasir Gul Khan.
