Guwahati to host National Lawn Bowls from Feb 21

GUWAHATI: The Lawn Bowling Association, Assam will organize the 7th National and 3rd Under-25 National Lawn Bowls Championships-2019 from February 21. The championship would be held at the Lawn Bowls Green, Sarusajai Sports Complex in the city.

Addressing a media gathering, the Working Chairman of Organising Committee Naba Basumatary said, “We have been awarded the Championships after Punjab failed to host it in December. I am thankful to the Bowling Federation of India for reposing faith in us to host the tournament in such a short span of time.”

Briefing the media about the Championships Organising Committee Secretary, Pranab Barman said about 156 players and 20 team officials from 13 Lawn Bowls playing states of India will participate in the tournaments. He also said that a strong team, comprising mostly India internationals, will represent Assam in the championships.
