Hailakandi: Special Thrust Must Be Given On Malnutrition

Hailakandi: With a view to improving the health indicators in Hailakandi district, a slew of steps have been initiated by the health department. A review meeting presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Amalendu Roy discussed threadbare about the steps to improve upon the health parameters, particularly nutrition.

Roy underscored the need to give added thrust on nutritional aspect in which the district is lagging behind to steer the aspirational district on the path of progress on the health front. "Special thrust must be given on malnutrition in women and children and to initiate steps in right earnest to improve upon the key health parameter to take the aspirational district to the path of progress," said Roy, adding, "Right now there is a confluence of positive factors that must be harnessed for impactful and positive transformation." The meeting discussed the need to identify the differently-abled persons in the district through a thorough survey so that artificial limbs, calipers and other accessories could be given to them.
