Hailstorm lashes gaon

GAON, April 27: The hailstorm that lashed last night caused huge damage of the crops and vegetables in gaon district. The late night hailstorm affected the places like Koroyani, Diphalu, Dimaruguri, Deodhar, Beltoli, Laogaon, Bengeati, Sialkhowa, Haidubi, Dhaniabheti etc. The hailstorm mainly damaged the “Boro rice” crops, jute and vegetables. Many broiler farms also destroyed and thousands of broilers died in the storm. Moreover, due incessant rains occurred from the beginning of the Bihu festival has created various problems including artificial flood in the different parts of the district. The farmers of the district demanded compensations for the damage of their crops due to hailstorm.
