Hand over Jothone killing probe to NIA: NCP

Shillong, March 20: The Meghalaya Unit of the tiolist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday urged the Meghalaya government to hand over probe into the killing of Jothone N Sangma to the tiol Investigation Agency (NIA).

“The involvement of the underground militants with political groups should be brought to light and the culprits should be booked as per the law,” the state unit of the NCP said. The NCP also stated that since his death the party has been demanding a NlA probe.

“Since your good self is heading the Government, you are humbly requested to kindly send the report/recommendation to the Central Government for a NIA Probe under section 6 (2) as provided in the tiol Investigation Agency Act, 2008,” the NCP said.

The party also said that the family members of Late Jothone N Sangma will not be in peace if the culprits involved are not bought to book and so also the people of the State want justice.
