‘Harassment of Hindu Bengali people should stop’

Bongaigaon, July 5: To demand solution to various burning issues of Bengali people residing in Assam, the Bengali United Forum of Assam, a united platform of several Bengali organizations, staged a demonstration on Thursday in Gandhi field in Bongaigaon. Samrat Bhawal , president of Bengali Youth Federation, said that many Bengali people of Assam were harassed in the name of NRC. “Also the relation between Hindu Bengali people and other communities has been strained for some unwanted reasons. We think the Government of Assam has something to do in this regard. Harassing Hindu Bengali people in the name of D-voters should be stopped,” he said. About 10,000 people from all over Assam took part in the protest.
