Have done well, hopeful of retaining power: Akhilesh

Lucknow, March 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the Samajwadi Party government has ushered in comprehensive development in the state and the opposition has been pushed to the sidelines of the state polity.

Addressing a press conference on completing four years in office, Yadav also took potshots at the BJP, saying people who were speaking about ‘acche din’ (good days) have now been rendered hopeless by the people of the state and were in fact “out of network”.

In an apparent dig on arch rival, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Yadav said while the Mayawati government during its tenure was busy building parks and wasting public money on monuments too were talking of development if voted to power.

He also listed many achievements of his government and also alleged that opposition parties in the absence of any real charge against him, raked up the law and order issue.

Stating that he was persolly monitoring the law and order and there was an improvement in police, the chief minister expressed the hope that he would return to power after the state assembly polls scheduled early next year. (IANS)
