‘Hawala’ Cash Seized, Principal of Jamia Islamia Salafia Arabi College Held In Barpeta District

PATHSALA: In a sensational development, police have nabbed Nurul Islam Nakvi, Principal of Jamia Islamia Salafia Arabi College at Itarbhitha Helonar pam under Howly police station in Barpeta district on Saturday. Around Rs 8,45,000 was seized from his possession. A person was arrested by Panbazar Police for alleged ‘hawala’ connection. In a further development, police arrested the Principal with the money which was received from Quwait. The Principal had also earlier visited Quwait. On Sunday, the Principal was brought to the Patacharkuchi police station and interrogated by a high-level investigating team of police, and taken to Guwahati under a tight security blanket.
