Hectic preparations on for Yomgo River Festival

Itanagar: Hectic preparations are on for the forthcoming three-day Yomgo River Festival at Aalo in West Siang district from February 1 to 3. Construction of a bridge over River Yomgo, floating house, main pandal, reception rooms, toilets are being constructed in the main celebration venue to cater to the needs of the festival revellers, an official communique informed here on Monday.

The festival is being organized by Aalo Town Peoples’ Welfare and Development Society under the close supervision of the district administration. The festival would offer event like angling, hot air ballooning, rafting, dirt biking, cycling, zip lining, fashion show, local cultural competitions, local games all along the riverside right from Paya village to the main venue. West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan and district tourism officer Rita Yorung are closely monitoring the ongoing work to make the festival a mega event in the district.
