FROM OUR REPORTER

SHILLONG, Feb 14: In view of the allegations made by 28 Myntris against the Syiem of Hima Mylliem for not convening any Hima Dorbar as per practice of the Hima for the past several years, the Hima of Mylliem will conduct a general Dorbar on February 18.

It may be mentioned that the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) had extended 45 days to the Executive Dorbar of the Hima to convene a meeting under the leadership of Paiem Latho Manik Syiem following the expiry of the deadline on January 24.

The 28 Myntris had earlier stated that as per the Hima Mylliem Act, 2007 the Hima Dorbar has to be convened once every year.

Speaking to newsmen here, the CEM KHADC PN Pyiem said, "We have already set an extension to the Hima to convene the general meeting within 45 days. Since this is a mater concerning Hima Mylliem we will have to wait and see the outcome of meeting."

Earlier around 28 Myntris (Ministers) out of the 44 Mintris of Hima Mylliem had also expressed their lack of confidence on the Syiem of Hima Mylliem Latho Manik Syiem and demanded his immediate removal.

The Myntris had also alleged that the Syiem has never given any account regarding the expenses of the Hima.

Interestingly Myntri J Nongkhlaw said, "The present Myntris who are supporting the Syiem of Hima Mylliem are in a minority and his days are numbered."

He said that everything will be discussed during the general Dorbar of Hima Mylliem scheduled on February 18.
