Himanta Biswa Sarma visits SM Dev Civil Hospital

Silchar, Jan 10: Himanta Biswas Sarma, Minister, Health and Education, visited S M Dev Civil Hospital located at Hospital Road of this town, today. He enquired about the availability of medicines in the drug stocks and also in the dispensary. It should be mentioned here that presently a number of medicines are not available with the Hospital. The Health Minister enquired patients about their health and asked whether they are getting proper treatment and medicines or not. Dr Ashutosh Barman, Superintendent, S M Dev Civil Hospital along with other staff said that the Hospital is in urgent need of digital X-ray machines and CT scan facility.

Himanta Biswa Sarma also made a round of the different wards of the Hospital and enquired a few patients about the availability of medicines and health care facilities. They replied in positive. Suman Akhtar Barbhuiya, wife of Kamrul Hussain Barbhuiya and a resident of Bhaga Bazaar said, “I have given birth to my first baby girl here. I have no complaints. Her husband said, “We are satisfied with the Hospital facilities. But we had to buy some medicines from outside as these were not available here. The toilet and the surroundings of the campus need to be cleaned.” Lakhi Das, a resident of Shiv Colony of this town, who went through a cesarean delivery and gave birth to a baby boy said, “We had to buy some injections from outside. We are happy at their services.”
