Himanta campaigns in Thowra constituency

DEMOW, March 27: With just few days left for the first phase of Assembly polls which will be held on April 4, in 107 no.  Thowra constituency, campaigning of both the Congress and Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) is going on in full swing.

Under Thowra Constituency, in the auditorium of Bokota Nemuguri Bazaar, a Ja Sabha was organized by the BJP on Sunday which was anchored by baranjan Mohan, president of Demow Mandal of BJP, where Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, star campaigner of the BJP campaigned for the BJP-AGP alliance candidate Kushal Dowari. A large number of people attended the Ja Sabha.

Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Bokota by chopper on Sunday afternoon where he was given a warm welcome by the BJP workers and the people of the area. Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that this time in Assam under the leadership of Sarbanda Sonowal a new government would be formed. Sarma slammed Sushanta Borgohain, Congress candidate as well as sitting MLA of Thowra constituency. In the Ja Sabha, Kushal Dutta, AGP leader of Sivasagar district, Bhaben Mohan, Anup Singh  Rajpuruhit, members of the State BJP Committee, Dipika Kakoty Dowari, president of Thowra Mandal Mahila Morcha,  Munin Dehingia, chief convener of District Media Cell gave their valuable speech and requested the people to cast their  vote for the BJP-AGP candidate.

In the Ja Sabha around 50 members of the Congress joined the BJP.
