Houses damaged and trees uprooted due to cyclonic storm in Demow

DEMOW: The cyclonic storm which hit on Sunday night affected normal life in Demow and its surrounding areas. Trees were uprooted and houses were damaged.

A tree branch fell in Rajmai on the NH-37 road due to which vehicles and night super buses had to wait for hours and the road was blocked. According to sources, due to the storm in Athabari, Rajmai, from Krishna Bihari Tea Estate to Khongia and from Khongia Tinali to Kaliapani, trees and electricity posts uprooted and roof tins damaged. There was no electricity in Demow and its surrounding areas on Sunday night and power was restored only on Monday.
