Hrijoy Das Kanungo of Silchar Among Top Real-Life Rappers

Silchar: Hrijoy Das Kanungo, popularly known as ‘Shamol da’ in the entire Barak Valley, is a 20-year-old sensational songwriter, rapper, video presenter, vlogger, show host, wholesome entertainer, and almost a public figure. Hrijoy of Silchar is once again in the news for getting featured in a leading daily as they conducted an interview with 5 rappers from across the country. Hrijoy Das Kanungo was selected from the entire northeastern region. He is already a household name in the Valley. Hrijoy Das Kanungo, one of the most popular faces in social media, is energetic, innovative and inventing. His onscreen antics have never failed to impress people.

Hrijoy’s videos and creative creations have helped him to carve a niche for himself. He shot into the limelight at the age of 15 by writing, composing and releasing a song. Since then, there has been no looking back for him. Talking to The Sentinel he said, “I could not believe this. I received a phone call from the daily which expressed its desire to do a story on some rappers from across the country. They wanted to do the story just before the release of Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Gully Boy’.”

His cover rap song composed in the year 2016 catapulted him to stardom. The video garnered million views. Currently, he is busy with his show ‘Hrijoy with Silchar’. Hrijoy Das Kanungo, a youth icon, makes videos in Sylheti and is a YouTube loyalist.
