HS Results: Three From Digboi Among Rank Holders

DIGBOI: Manoj Dhanowar, the managing director of RD Junior College, Digboi, after the excellent academic result of the college in the form of three rank holders, praised the conducive educative atmosphere, rigid discipline, punctuality and rules of the college and the hard toil of the students and teachers alike for bringing laurels to Digboi.

Three students of the college, Ankur Baruah and Mithilesh Prasad Sarmah of Commerce stream stood 6th and 7th respectively while Shruti Sonowal of the same college of secured 5th rank in the Arts stream. Shruti secured 470 marks , Ankur scored 459 while Mithilesh Prasad Sarmah got 455 out of 500. Ankur Baruah of Naharkatiya made the school more proud by securing the State highest marks in Business Studies (100 marks). The results of the Assam Higher Secondary final exam were announced by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council on Saturday morning.

Out of 78 students in commerce stream, 72 got first division while the remaining stood at second division. Five students got distinctions while 25 secured star marks. The total letter marks stood at 127. On the other hand, of the total 137 who appeared in Arts stream, 133 students secured first division while four managed second division. Ten students got distinction and 61 got star marks. In all, there were 292 letter marks. Similarly in the science stream, 172 students passed in first division while 24 in second division. Ten students got distinction. Priyanshu Agarwal of Margherita College made the coal queen town in Tinsukia district proud by scoring 457 marks, thus securing 8th position in the State. Priyanshu aims to become a Chartered Accountant with MBA in future.
