HS Science Topper And 5th Rank Holder Bring Laurels To Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: It is said that where there is a will, there is a way. Similarly, success is not a distant dream for those who are always hard working and perseverant.

Realizing the universally true essence of such maxims, a student of Lakhimpur, Bitupan Arandhara brought laurels to the district by registering his name in the toppers’ list in the HS final exam in the Science stream. Besides Biyupan, another student of Lakhimpur, Ayan Koushik Mahanta secured the fifth rank in the Science stream as per result declared on Saturday by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). Both of them appeared for the exam from Ramanujan Junior College of Nagaon.

Bitupan is the son of Leela Arandhara and Golapi Arndhara, who are residents of village Ghagar Nagar, Pothalipam of the district. His father is the Assistant Headmaster of Kananadi High School. Bitupan continued his high schooling in Boginadi Sankardev Shishu Bidya Niketan and he passed the HSLC exam in 2017 with distinction marks. He could not get a rank only for 10 marks. But he did not give up and this time secured the topmost rank in the HS Science exam, sharing the position with another meritorious student of Darrang College. With overall percentage of 95.60 per cent and grand total of 478 marks, Bitupan scored 88 in English, 98 in Assamese, 98 in Chemistry, 95 in Physics, 99 in Statistics and 91 in Mathematics.

On the other hand, Ayan Koushik Mahanta scored 92 in English, 98 in Assamese, 99 in Biology, 97 in Chemistry, 87 in Mathematics and 84 in Physics. His total marks is 474 with 94.60 overall percentage. Ayan secured eight rank in the HSLC exam in 2017. He is the son of Biman Mahanta and Dulumoni Mahanta, permanent residents of Saokuchi, Narayanpur. Beside them, Sibani Nath of Genus Academy Junior College of North Lakhimpur also brough laurels to the district by bagging the 10th rank in the Arts stream.
