HSLC results: Four students from city shine

Sudershan Public School begs 3rd, 8th and 9th positions; Saint Mary's HS School gets 9th

GUWAHATI, May 25: With the Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) results being declared on Friday, the Sudarshan Public School has another feather in its cap, as three distinguished students have brought laurels to the campus by occupying a space in the top ranks. Adding fame to the institution, Arbi Chaliha has begged the 3rd position scoring 591 marks; Bipanch Deka has got the 8th position with 586 marks while B Zenith Kashyap has occupied the 9th position scoring 585 marks altogether.

Sharing the backdrop of her success to The Sentinel, Arbi Chaliha at the very outset thanked her teachers and parents who she believed remained very instrumental and helped round the clock to achieve success. Further revealing the story behind her success, Arbi informed to The Sentinel that she studied 12 to 13 hours a day to attain this momentum. Aiming to become an Astronaut in future, Arbi wants to study further in science stream. She believes that only a regular study with an utmost attention can bring the desired success. Arbi, who scored cent percent marks in both General Mathematics and Social Science, also attended private tuitions. Reading newspaper and books is her hobby. Arbi is the daughter of Nilakanta Chaliha and Chandralipi Saikia Chaliha.

Another topper from the Sudarshan Public School, Bipanch Deka who stood at the 8th position shared The Sentinel that he expected this momentum of success. Desiring to become a doctor in future, Bipanch will study in science stream. Terming Assam as a wonderful land, Bipanch said that beyond his profession in future, he wants to become a responsible citizen. He regularly follows the sport's page of the newspaper. He is a great fan of Zubeen Garg and said that he listen every numbers of the singer. Thanking his teachers and parents for his success, Bipanch believed that everything can be achieved through study. Bipanch is the son of Kamala Kanta Deka and Joya Deka.

Achinta Bhuyan, father of the 9th rank B Zenith Kashyap said that the family did not expect such a shocking and breathtaking moment. He shared The Sentinel that his topper son was more fascinated to smart phone and used to spend a good time among the peers. Moreover, Zenith also regularly watched movies and was equally crazy on latest hairstyle. Bursting on tears on Zenith's success, Achinta further said, "I hardly saw him reading on the table."

"I studied 11 to 12 hours a day. I also love games and sports. I play cricket as well as guitar," Zenith said. Expressing his annoyance on politics, Zenith desires to become a doctor in future for which he wants to pursue science streams.

On the other hand, continuing its legacy of producing achievers in the secondary education, the Saint Mary's Higher Secondary School, Guwahati has time and again spotted itself in the limelight as its student Sermon Caisar has begged the 9th position in the HSLC 10 result declared on Friday. Caisar has occupied the 9th position scoring 585 marks altogether besides getting cent percent marks in two subjects – general mathematics and general science. Talking to The Sentinel, Caisar, son of Abdul Sukker and Sarikha Laskar shared that he studied 12 to 13 hours a day. To get this expected rank, Caisar did not attend any private tuition. With an aim to become a self-dependent professional in future, Caisar want to study medical science.
