GUWAHATI: The former pacer from Assam Krishna Das, who is now playing for Goa in the Ranji trophy this season, shared his views on his new team and other aspect during a discussion with The Sentinel. Here is the excerpt

TS:Tell us your stint as an outstation recruit in Goa squad?

I am very happy. No pressure on me. I am getting good support from the officials of the Goa Cricket Association and Team management.

TS:Once you were the regular member of Assam Ranji team but this time you are in the opposite camp. How are you handling the situation?

Definitely I am not feeling well. I am from Assam and I played for this team and made many memorable performances. But I feel I should control my emotion as I am a professional cricketer and have to perform for the team which I am representing.

TS:Any specific role trusted on you?

All other pacers in the team are junior and I have given the responsibility to guide them. The bowlers are good and they just need little bit exposure.

TS:Goa is known for football. How is the cricket atmosphere there?

No doubt football is first game in Goa. If you go out you will see that young children are playing soccer. But popularity of cricket too is gradually increasing. Already there is a good cricket stadium with several turf wickets. What they now need is to increase the number of grounds.

TS:This season Goa failed to perform well in Ranji trophy. What is the reason behind?

Earlier I mentioned that our team comprised of many junior cricketers. They are talented but little bit inexperience. Once they get the exposure this team will start to perform well.

TS:Can we see Krishna once again in Assam team?

Why not? I am always ready to serve Assam and the state will always be my first choice.
