Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is quite an audacious host on Koffee With Karan, found himself on the hot seat as he appeared on Arbaaz Khan’s web show, Pinch. As per the show’s concept, the filmmaker read and responded to mean tweets. Among the first queries, he took was on his sexuality.

Karan read a user’s question, “Did you have a gender malfunction?” and replied, “No. “No. I was born a man, I am proud to be a man, I have a woman in me that makes me more of a man.”

This was followed by a lot of mean tweets within the same vein. Taking to them head on, Karan said, “Initially, when I used to get it (online abuse), I used to deal with it by being upset and being angry but then I got into the state of indifference. And now I’m in a state of superb amusement.”

He added, “You can talk about me, however, don’t make it sound like I actually have a disease or something is wrong with me and that I ought to shut up because you’re thinking that I’m gay. Then you must shut up because you’ve got no life. That’s the way I look at it.” Talking regarding work, Karan additionally revealed that he reads all reviews and comments and takes good with the bad and learns from his mistakes.

On being asked by Arbaaz about what truly pinches him the most, Karan aforementioned it’s when people comment his babies. “I am a little sensitive regarding my babies and when they start saying things about them, that really bothers me,” he said. Amid several weird queries, the filmmaker was additionally asked by a user about how he will offer the kid the “love of a mother.” To this, he replied, “It’s a new age. He added, “Conventionally the children are raised by a mother and a father and I get that. I am a single parent and it comes with its own set of challenges. But that doesn’t mean a man and women have totally different roles to play. I actually have enough love to give to my child and also I have a mother at home whom they call ‘mama’. I am co-parenting my children with my mother and I don’t think there can be a better relationship or a situation than that.”
