ICC's post hailing Virat Kohli as king sparks mixed reaction, it replies with befitting tweet

Guwahati: This might look like an act of partiality on part of the International Cricket Council after they posted a picture of Indian skipper Virat Kohli that featured Kohli dressed as a king, but the fact is that Kohli truly deserves to be honoured. However, the tweet created much a buzz in the social media with multiple reactions being garnered both in favour and against the post. For some, it looked like partiality and for some Kohli is well-deserved for this honour and praised ICC for this sweet gesture.

The picture shared by ICC also contains the total number of times that India have won the World Cup.

Other than the common people showing vivid reactions, known figures like English cricket commentator and former cricketer Michael Vaughan too called it as partiality and said, “Nothing like impartiality!!!”

Notably, the ICC made the tweet just before India started their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against South Africa. Later, the ICC made a simple reply sharing three snapshots with an emoji explaining why Kohli deserves to be featured as a king and why not anybody else. The snapshots posted by them show Virat Kohli at top of ODI players' rankings and Test players' ranking as well as his hat-trick of wins at the ICC awards. This certainly would serve as a befitting reply to Michael Vaughan.

As stated by ICC in its reply, Kohli certainly is a well-deserving person to be featured as the king and ICC definitely have good reasons to do so.

For some social media users, the image of Virat Kohli looks more like KL Rahul. Tweets like "KL Rahul and Virat Kohli's son?", "Why the KL Rahul look ?", "Is it @imVkohli or @klrahul11 ???" and "Looks more like KL Rahul than Virat Kohli" shows that some are also confused whether the picture is of Virat Kohli or KL Rahul!
