Illegal cock fight, poker game stopped at Doyang Tea Estate, Merapani

MERAPANI: Illegal cock fight and poker game have been stopped at Doyang Tea Estate under Jamuguri police station of Golaghat district, said a source. The source alleged that for more than six months a group of people had been carrying on illegal activities in the tea garden.

This group also did not pay heed to the VDP and social organizations. Ritu Bora, the officer-in-charge of Jamuguri police station launched an operation in the tea garden but no one was arrested till the filing of this report.
