Illegal sand transporting trucks seized at Hojai

HOJAI, March 12: Three trucks transporting sand to Lumding from Sitalmari of Morajhar area using fake passes were confiscated by the officials of the Forest Department on NH 54 at Nilbagan area here. The number of trucks transporting sand to Lumding from Sitalmari are on the rise these days, police said. Sources said the forest department official arrived at the spot and seized the three trucks when a section of local student members of AMSU informed them about the transporting of sand illegally from Sitalmari.
