Illegal sawmill and timber seized

Tamulpur, Feb 23: Based on specific information, officers and staff of Tamulpur Forest Range office on Friday evening launched an operation in coperation with SSB at Khatarbari village in the district of Baksa and seized two illegal sawmills and a large number of valuable timbers. Beat officer Phukan Deka and Motilal Oja led the operation in the village and seized two mills along with two power generators, other equipment and huge numbers of valuable timbers. According to forest officials, the value of the seized materials will be more than 2 lakh. All the materials have been shifted to Tamulpur Forest Range office.
