Illegal timber mill seized at Tamulpur

Tamulpur: Tamulpur Forest Range office on Thursday launched an operation at Latibari village and Saru Balisiha village against two illegal timber mills in cooperation with No 24 battalion of SSB, Guwabari based camp.

Following secret information, forest officials led by Phukan Deaka and a team on Thursday launched the operation and seized two timber mills.

During the operation, forest department seized machines, blades and other equipment used in timber mills and seized valuable wood from the mills. According to the forest department, the value of the seized materials will be approximately Rs 3,00,000.
