Illegal tobacco, Ganja seized by Amguri Police

JOYSAGAR: Amguri Police, with the help of Halwating Police, seized a large quantity of illegal tobacco, ganja and narcotic products from various places under Amguri revenue circle on Tuesday.

As per information, following strict direction from Amguri SDO M Chetia, police conducted this drive and were able to seize illegal tobacco and other narcotic products worth about Rs 2.67 lakh.

Local citizens had filed a complaint before the Amguri SDO against the rampant sale of illegal tobacco and narcotics near the schools and colleges of Amguri and Halwating, which was adversely affecting the student community. Three persons were booked by the police in this connection, sources informed.
