DHUBRI, July 26: Employees under the Dhubri district unit of All Assam Judicial Employees’ Association (AAJEA) staged protest against non-implementation of the Shetty Commission’s recommendations by wearing black badges in the sub-ordinate judiciary in the district on Thursday. The protest was staged at all the district’s judicial courts as well as subdivisional courts across the State without hampering normal functioning of judicial and official works of the day.

A source in the association alleged that despite several memoranda submitted to the State government for implementation of the recommendation of the Justice Shetty Commission as well as publication of Service Rule of the judicial employees, nothing tangible has been done in this direction.

Talking to The Sentinel, AAJEA general secretary Ananta Prasad informed that their agitation was also against the non-inclusion of pay scale as well as posts of the staff of the sub-ordinate judiciary in Assam in the revision of pay, 2017 in compliance of the report published in page no.157 para 1.20 by the 7th Assam Pay and Productivity Commission as well as the demands for graduate pay scale and advance increment to the law graduate employees. “The association will go for further agitation programme after due notice to the authorities concerned if their legitimate demands are not fulfilled within a month,” Prasad warned.
