Improvement of road from Cachar College point to Madhuramukh E and D to begin soon

Silchar, Jan 5: As per the decision taken in the ‘Citizens Meet’ of Youth Against Social Evils (YASE), on last Sunday, a delegation of greater Malugram area, Dhrubo Saha, Ajay Devlaskar, Simanto Bhattacharjee, Sanjeev Roy, Abdul Ahad, Imrul Laskar and others met the Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads) on Tuesday. They discussed the bad shape of the roads of the greater Malugram area. The Executive Engineer has assured the delegation that an estimate of Rs.233.715 lakhs has been submitted, and is under the process of sanction, for which he will move to Dispur. This first phase of work will start from Cachar College point and will proceed towards both sides, Ghaniala and Malugram then to Madhuramukh E and D dyke.

 The second phase of E and D work will be taken from Anpurghat dyke towards Itkhola, Mukam Point, Malugram Manipuri Para, Madhuraghat, Devi Prasad School Point, Diversion road, Steamerghat Road to Sadarghat. The estimate of second phase will be taken up by PWD at the earliest. Moreover, as per his discussion and commitment with the delegation of greater Malugram area on December 31, 2016, S Viswathan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar has addressed a letter to the Commissioner and Special Secretary, PWD (RR), Government of Assam on Wednesday. A copy of that letter has been given to YASE for confirmation. YASE has conveyed their special thanks and gratitude to the DC for taking such positive and committed step and hoped that the concerned PWD authority will do the needful to start the construction work of the mentioned road of the area immediately.
